IDC Fall Institutional Members’ Symposium 2023

Please join us on Wednesday, October 25, 2022 (10:00am-12:00pm) for the AAO’s Fall Institutional Members’ Symposium, organized by the Institutional Development Committee (IDC)

We are pleased to be joined by Stephanie Bilodeau. Stephanie, Manager of RCMP Archives Management Services, will be presenting about the organization, the collections and the management of the Institution’s archives. RCMP’s archives Office is very particular and unique as it is the only Department in the federal Government to retain archives and offer a service of archives management, including research, for its employees and to the public.

Stephanie will also present the preliminary findings on the research that Leanna Wigboldus, Student, has been conducting: an environmental scan of internal and external services that manages archives, mostly targeted at similar Organizations or similar mandate of archives management and/or national security operations. The goal is to generate an analysis of what’s working well, and what to change in order to modernize and transform its activities according to trends and actual needs in our society. This will allow the opportunity to exchange on our current Institutional archives challenges and opportunities.

Following their presentation, the IDC will host a discussion forum on the role of the IDC: what should be the role and duties of the Institutional Development Committee? How could/should the IDC serve institutional members of the AAO? We welcome input from our members as we look to update our committee Terms of Reference over this next year.

The fall symposium will be held exclusively online via Zoom.
