Help Shape the Future of the AAO’s Safe Spaces Sessions!

The AAO’s Professional Development Committee and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee are seeking feedback on the Safe Spaces Sessions. Launched in 2020 during the Covid-19 Pandemic, the sessions offered a space for records professionals from historically excluded groups to find connection and support during a tumultuous time. To ensure the sessions remain relevant and valuable, we want to hear from you regardless of whether you have attended a session in the past!

There will be several opportunities to provide feedback this spring. At this time, we invite you to complete an anonymous online survey using the most applicable link below (survey will take about 10 minutes to complete)

Future feedback opportunities will include:

  • In-person Safe Spaces sessions running during this year’s AAO conference.

  • Future virtual Safe Spaces sessions (date TBD)

As a friendly reminder, the sessions we offer are exclusively for members from the following historically excluded groups: BIPOC, LGBT2QS+, and professionals with disabilities, chronic illness, and neurodivergent. We are specifically seeking input from records professionals who identify as a member of one or more of these groups.

Please feel free to direct any questions to the PDC Chair at professionaldevelopment@aao-archivists.ca

Kind regards,
