Following an inquiry from an interested individual, the Archives Association of Ontario is presenting a Call For Posters to be Presented at the AAO's Annual Conference in London Ontario May 27-29, 2015.

The Posters are intended to present work from students in topics related to archival theory or practices.  It is hoped that the presenters will be able to attend the Conference to answer any questions raised by their posters, but this is recommended rather than mandatory.  While the topic of the conference itself deals with "Do you have it RIGHT?; Archives, archivists, and how they exercise their rights, regulations and practices - or, what do you have the right to do, what do you have the responsibility to do, and why the two do not always work together?" a poster need not directly deal with this topic, but can run the entire gamut of managing or handling records of historic or archival value.

Submissions of proposals for posters are invited.  The proposals should be sent with a brief abstract and bio to Daniel German, Programme Chair, AAO2015, Daniel.German@bac-lac.gc.ca

The due date for submissions is 31 January 2015.

    "Do you have it RIGHT?"

Archives, archivists, and how they exercise their rights, regulations and practices – or, what do you have the right to do, what do you have the responsibility to do, and why the two do not always work together?

The Archives Association of Ontario is pleased to present a Call for Papers for their 2015 Annual Conference, to be held May 27 to 29th 2015 in the beautiful Forest City of London, Ontario.  Come present your paper to an appreciative audience of your peers, listen to experts in the field, and generally participate in the leading event of Ontario’s Archival Calendar.

Archives operate under the aegis of various rights and responsibilities, from copyright to donor agreements, from freedom of information legislation to privacy restrictions, from processing practices to weeding criteria, we all work within certain guidelines, rules that direct us to our rights, or rather, to what is RIGHT.  This conference is intended to address all these myriad issues, whether through case studies, theoretical analyses, or even philosophical musings.

Submissions of proposals for entire sessions or for individual papers are invited.  The proposals should be sent with a brief abstract and bio to Daniel German, Programme Chair, AAO2015, Daniel.German@bac-lac.gc.ca

The due date for submissions is 30 November 2014.
