The 2011 AAO Conference was held in Thunder Bay, Ontario from June 14-17, 2011. It was hosted by members of the AAO's NOAA Chapter

The conference theme was Archives & Community: Engaging the Public in the Modern World.

June 15

  • Opening reception: Thunder Bay Art Gallery 7:00-9:00 p.m.

June 16:

  • Welcome and opening at Old Fort William 9:00-11:00 a.m.
  • From theory to reality undefined reflections on implementing outreach in large archives (Keynote) by Scott Goodine 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

  • Lunch break

  • Engaging Students OR Connecting & Creating Virtual Communities through On-Line Exhibitions 2:20-4:00 p.m.

  • Building Future Champions of Archives: Educational Programming in Ontario OR Engaging local communities 4:15-5:45 p.m.

  • Awards Banquet 6:00 p.m. - 1:00 a.m.

June 17:
  • Call and answer: networking, cooperation and outreach in university archives OR Community, Access, and Ethics 9:00-10:30 a.m.
