Teaching with Archival Records Unconference

The Archives Association of Ontario (AAO) Toronto Area Archivists' Group (TAAG) invites you to the Teaching with Archival Records Unconference which is a full-day event for archivists to discuss, share, and explore pedagogical approaches to archival literacy.

While the preliminary themes focus on defining core archival literacy competencies, adding engagement and interactivity to class presentations, designing assignments, and evaluating impact through metrics and assessments, the content will be participant-driven with collaborative activities such as brainstorming topics and lightning talks.

Proposed Schedule:

9:15am - 9:45am: Topic proposals and finalize schedule
9:45am - 10:30am: Speaker: James Roussain, Archivist, Outreach & Instruction, John M. Kelly Library, University of St. Michael's College, University of Toronto
10:30am - 10:45: Break (light refreshments available)
10:45am - 11:30am: Session 1 - Core competencies for students
11:30am - 12:15pm : Session 2 - Activities and engagement

12:15pm - 1:15pm: Lunch (on your own)

1:15pm - 2:00 pm: Session 3 - Assignments
2:00pm - 2:45pm: Session 4 - Metrics
2:45pm - 3:00pm: Break (light refreshments available)
3:00pm - 3:45pm: Session 5 - Bonus
3:45pm - 4:30pm: Speaker: Allison Little, Senior Coordinator, Educational Programming and Exhibitions, Archives of Ontario
