The Archives Association of Ontario has designated April 5th to 9th as Archives Awareness Week. This week is an excellent opportunity to celebrate your archives, the importance of documentary heritage within your community, and your organizational achievements.

Event Ideas
There are many ways you can celebrate and promote archives. Here are a few ideas to try during Archives Awareness Week:
- Organize an online workshop
- Sponsor an online lecture by a researcher who has used your collection
- Organize an online tour
- Create an online exhibition
- Host a ‘lunch and learn’ at your institution
- Display an archival film
- Write an article for your local paper, or publish a blog post
- Tweet/Facebook entries from a journal for a week using #2021AAW
- Host a ‘behind the scenes’ online tour of your institution
- Host an online open house
- Host an ‘Ask A Conservator’ event (online)
- Host an online Q&A “Ask An Archivist” day
- Highlight an underrepresented community in your archives and seek records this week
