Toronto Area Archivists' Group (TAAG)

The Toronto Area Archivists' Group is the Toronto Chapter of the Archives Association of Ontario. Known as TAAG, this group organizes professional development and social events for Toronto-area archives professionals, including workshops, tours, and parties! We welcome collaboration with archives, libraries, historical societies, and other groups. 

TAAG also provides an award to the convocating student with the highest academic standing in the Archives and Records Management path at the University of Toronto's iSchool.

    Hello Information Organizations:

    We are Cybil Stephens and Heather Buchansky, Professional Development Co-Chairs for the Masters of Information Student Council (MISC) at the Faculty of Information and we are happy to announce the 5th Annual iSchool Employer Showcase (formerly the Job and Networking Fair).

    Last year was a tremendous success and we hope you will join us! We welcome organizations from all information fields (archives and records management, information systems and technologies, library and information science, information and knowledge management). This is a great opportunity to recruit students, network, and introduce your organization to future information professionals.

    This is a convention-style showcase - we provide display space and basic technological requirements (i.e. outlets, wireless internet). Lunch and refreshments will be provided for the information professionals taking part.

    Please mark on your calendar an iSchool event to be held Wednesday, November 10 2010, from 12-1pm entitled “Outside the File Box: John McDonald’s Reflections on 35 Years of Electronic Records and What’s Next”.

    John McDonald’s 35 years in the information and records management business have spanned the evolution of the electronic recordkeeping era. His experiences working in the field and as an independent consultant have given him unique insight into the skills we will need in the working world. Want to know where we’ve been, where we’re heading, and what we’ll be needed for? Come find out! This event is free and open to all TAAG members.

    Catherine Hobbs is coming to talk to the ACA Student Chapter on October 28th at 12-1pm.
