Kate Theimer is the author of the popular blog ArchivesNext and a frequent writer, speaker and tweeter (@archivesnext) on issues related to the future of archives. She is the author of Web 2.0 Tools and Strategies for Archives and Local History Collections (Neal-Schuman, 2010) and the editor of A Different Kind of Web: New Connections between Archives and Our Users (Society of American Archivists, 2011). She is currently serving as editor for a series of books for Scarecrow Press on innovation across all areas of archival practices. She has been a plenary speaker on the subject of participatory archives at regional archival conferences in the United States and abroad. Kate has recently completed serving a term on the Council of the Society of American Archivists. Before starting her career as an independent writer and blogger, she worked in the policy division of the National Archives and Records Administration in College Park, Maryland.
