  • 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM (UTC-03:00)
  • Canada Science and Technology Museum, 1867 St. Laurent Blvd., Ottawa, ON

Archeion* Coordinator Lisa Snider will be in Ottawa on January 18 to give an introductory training to Archeion.

Please join us for a compelling 2-3 hour introduction to Archeion! Lisa will go over the basics and answer questions. We encourage participants to follow along with Lisa's presentation on screen by bringing their laptops to explore Archeion on their own.

The training will take place in the newly reopened Canada Science and Technology Museum at 1867 St Laurent Blvd, Ottawa.

Please RSVP by January 15 to Adele Torrance at atorrance@ingeniumcanada.org or 613-991-4975.  Maximum 20 participants.

Once you have RSVPed, you will receive a confirmation e-mail with parking and facility information.

*Archeion, Ontario's Archival Information Network, is a publicly available, bilingual gateway to descriptions of archival records located in Ontario. There are currently over 20,000 descriptions available for searching and browsing. Archeion also provides contact information and locations of archives where access to documents is available.  Archeion uses AtoM software (accesstomemory.org).

Lisa will be focusing specifically on Archeion but for those interested Archeion is supported by AtoM an open source web based archival description software, accesstomemory.org. Artefactual (www.artefactual.com) provides fee-based services to support AtoM.
